The mass displacement from Gaza has created a humanitarian crisis with far-reaching consequences. As families arrive in Egypt, they bring with them not only stories of loss and trauma, but also urgent medical needs. The existing healthcare system in Egypt, though supportive, is under severe strain and cannot meet the complex and extensive medical requirements of so many new arrivals.
At My Development Organization, we are stepping into this critical gap. Our team has launched a comprehensive medical aid program to provide essential healthcare services to Gazan refugees. We are focusing on two key areas: immediate care for new arrivals and ongoing support for chronic conditions.

Immediate Care and Triage
Many refugees arrive in Egypt with injuries, infections, and a lack of basic medical supplies. Our program includes setting up mobile clinics and medical points at key entry and community hubs to provide immediate medical assistance. Our doctors and nurses are on the front lines, treating everything from shrapnel wounds and burns to common illnesses exacerbated by displacement. This initial care is crucial for stabilizing their health and preventing the spread of infectious diseases in crowded living conditions.
Ongoing Medical Support
For many, the need for medical care doesn’t end with immediate treatment. We are also providing medication and supplies for those with chronic illnesses like diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension. These conditions require consistent care, which is often impossible to maintain during a crisis. By ensuring a steady supply of essential medicines, we are helping to prevent serious complications and providing a measure of stability in an otherwise chaotic situation. We are also working to facilitate access to more specialized care and surgical procedures for those with complex needs.
Our medical aid effort is not just about treating physical ailments; it’s about restoring a sense of safety and hope. It is a powerful reminder that every life is valuable and deserves to be cared for. This would not be possible without the incredible support of our donors and the unwavering dedication of our medical volunteers. Thank you for helping us bring health and hope to those who need it most.
